Defendant claims she does not owe any rent as the apartment had bed bugs and was in deplorable condition. Plaintiff claims defendant failed to pay her security deposit, and, was always late on the rent, they made paying arrangements for defendant to catch up. They agreed on $500 a month. Plaintiff claims defendant tore the property up. Defendant previously had rented an apartment from plaintiff with no problem.
