QUICK OVERVIEW

Plaintiff is suing for a roof repair, $5000.

EPISODE DESCRIPTION

Plaintiff claims she bought a new house from the defendant, to find out that the roof was not properly repaired. Defendant claims the roof was fine when he sold the house, he is not responsible for any weather damage that might have occurred as it was a bad winter that year. He is accused of shoddy workmanship. Plaintiff claims that 15 days after moving in, the snow on the roof cleared, she was missing a lot of shingles from the roof; ended up with a leak; the report she got about the roof before buying the house said that the roof was fine, although they were not able to check it out with the amount of snow it had at the time. Plaintiff had a friend repaired some of the roof. She had a few quotes for a new roof. Defendant admits friends and family repaired the roof as part of having time together. Roof had no warranty, there was no contract, an inspection was done.
